Uses OEM-Approved Technology
This technology was developed in collaboration with Ford Motor Company, GM,
and Daimler Chrysler to specifically test a vehicle’s EVAP system and to meet
major automakers’ EVAP testing specifications and needs. The LeakTamer Plus
EVAP Model 6521 is EVAP-approved.
Uses Patented UltraTraceUV™ dye – the only dye approved by
OEMs
UltraTraceUV™ dye solution is the only solution approved by GM, Ford, and
Chrysler. It will not harm the activated charcoal canister, ORVR valve, purge
valve, vent valve, catalytic converters, O2 sensors, seals, or gaskets. UltraTraceUV dye will not void factory warranty.
Test with Nitrogen or Shop Air
Being able to use nitrogen or shop air when testing the EVAP system allows you
to follow automaker test requirements for ALL makes and models. (Most major
OEMs
require/ recommend the use of nitrogen!)
Equipped with Auto-correct EVAP Pressure
Test pressure delivered by the No. 6521 is non-adjustable in order to avoid the
risk of pressure damage to the EVAP system. This ensures the right pressure
each and every time you test.
No Manual Flow Control Valve to Shut Off
An electronic safety valve automatically shuts off airflow into the vehicle’s EVAP
system every time the LeakTamer Plus EVAP shuts off. This eliminates the need
to remember to turn off a manual flow control valve in order to stop gasoline
fumes from continually exiting the EVAP system and filling your work bay.
A Truly Versatile Unit for Testing a Wide Range of Systems
The OTC LeakTamer Plus EVAP can also locate wind and water leaks,
vacuum/induction leaks, climate control vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, and many
other closed system leaks. All testing is performed with the engine off.
Inexpensive to operate, the OTC LeakTamer Model 6521 is user-refillable and
will complete about 500 tests per smoke solution refill. Also comes with full dye
reservoir and built-in dipstick.
